We're doin' chores (such as laundry, mowing the lawn, cleaning house, taking out the garbage, vacuuming all the pet hair... you get the picture), packin' our suitcases, and leavin' instructions and copies of detailed information for house/pet sitters and family members.
Tomorrow evening we're off to Auntie Kathryn's before we fly out the following day.
And, if you have any suggestions concerning what we just HAVE to do/eat/see/buy/etc (on a limited budget and within reason, of course!), comment on this post to let us know your recommendations! Below you will find listed the major cities where we'll be stopping:
- London (UK),
- Brussels (Belgium),
- Luxembourg (passing through the tiny country during a day stop),
- Lucerne (Switzerland),
- Liechtenstein (passing through the itty-bjitty country during a day stop),
- Innsbruck (Austria),
- Venice/Rome/Montecatini/Nice/Monte Carlo/Pisa (Italy),
- Eze/Provence/French Riviera/Paris (France),
- Barcelona (Spain), and
- Porto/Lisbon (Portugal)
London! The Victoria and Albert Museum (if you have time) and climb up St. Paul's cathedral - but only if you have a day of good weather. The view is spectacular and worth the money. Also, a good place for lunches? Pret a Manger (a little sandwich/salad place that is everywhere). My favorite salad was the one with lentils and hummus and always with the snacking and edamame :)
ReplyDeleteWe'll look up the sandwich place. Thanks!
DeleteThe Orsay Museum in Paris is quite nice as it's a much smaller museum than the Louvre. It contains some of the most famous Impressionist paintings in the world and the lines to get in are shorter too. Of course, the Mona Lisa is not there. Have fun! Love,Louise :)
